we have combined this for a great trip that will give you the best of both. From the archaeological ruins of Cusco including Sacsayhauman,
Kenko, Pucapucara & Tambo Machay to the fabled Machu Picchu site hidden deep in the Andean mountains.
As for the Amazon, we offer you the accessability of viewing a variety of wildlife that exists in
this region. The species included parrots, monkeys, cayman, giant river otter, as well as several
different types of birds and fauna that are known for this region. You will also have the opportunity
of learning about the variety of plants that not only the locals use on a day to day basis but
people all over the world use on a daily basis.
Day 1 - arrive Lima
Upon your arrival into Lima you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Miraflores for your overnight.
Day 2 - Lima - Cuzco - City Tour & Sacsayhauman Park - Cuzco
Our staff will transfer you to the airport for your short flight to Cuzco where you will be met and escorted to your hotel. Relax the remainder of the morning with a cup of the local tea to help acclimate to the 11,400 ft. altitude of Cuzco. In the afternoon our guide will meet you at your hotel and take you to the historical and archaeological sites inside the City of Cuzco and to the most important archaeological ruins of Kenko, Tambo Machay, Pucapucara and Sacsayhauman. Return to your hotel in the early evening.
Day 3 - Cuzco - Pisac Market - Ollantaytambo
Today our guide will take you into the Sacred Valley of the Inca where its breath taking scenery through the Andean mountains lead to the Indian market town of Pisac. Here you will have time to mingle and shop just as the locals have for hundreds of years. After lunch at a small hacienda our guides will take you to the Inca fort of Ollantaytambo where the Inca fought their final battles against the Spanish tyrants. Afterwards, remain in the Sacred Valley. (3:45 p.m) Overnight at the hotel. (BB/L)
Day 4 - Cuzco / Ollantaytambo - Machu Picchu
Your day starts early with a three hour train journey winding through the Andean country side passing through small Quechua Indian communities where you will have a chance to get a taste of some local corn known as choclo and cheese. Upon your arrival into the town of Aquas Calientes your anticipation of the fabled lost city of the Inca over comes your tired body from the long train ride. You will then transfer by bus up the narrow winding road that will lead you to the Celestial site of Machu Picchu. Here the guide will explain the history and myths that surround this incredible archaeological wonder. Remainder of the evening on your own. Transfer to your hotel for your overnight.(BB/L)
Day 5 - Machu Picchu - Free day - Cuzco
Today you will have the full day to explore Machu Picchu and its surroundings on your own. (We suggest to take a picnic basket on a short hike to Wayna Picchu or to the Inti Puku Pass ( Gate of the Sun ) where you can get a birds eye view of this massive site. In the late afternoon you will depart Machu Picchu with many memories that a picture will never tell. After your return to Cuzco you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 6 - Cuzco - Puerto Maldonado - Amazon Lodge
Our staff will transfer you to the Cuzco airport for your short flight to Puerto Maldonado and into the Amazon. You will be met and transferred by taxi to the Tambopata River where you will board the dug out motorized canoe for a 2 hour scenic ride up river. Upon arrival at the lodge you will be met with a welcome drink and get familiar with the facilities. In the afternoon you will be led on a exploration of the surrounding area. (BB/L/D)
Day 7 - Amazon Lodge
Today our guide will take you by boat and short hiking trips to the surrounding lakes and trails of the jungle lodge where a variety of animal life from monkeys, parrots, giant river otter, tapir, capibara, cayman and many more species of animal life can be possibly viewed on a daily basis. You might even try your luck at fishing for the renowned pirana. Overnight at your lodge. (B/L/D)
Day 8 - Amazon Lodge
Today our guide will take you by boat and short hiking trips to the surrounding lakes and trails.(B/L/D)
Day 9 - Amazon Lodge - Puerto Maldonado - Lima
Morning transfer by boat and taxi to the Puerto Maldonado airport for your return flight to Lima. Our staff will meet and transfer you to your hotel in Miraflores, remainder of the day on your own. ( B ) ( optional tours in Lima available on request. )
Day 10 - Lima - home
Today you will bid a farewell to the Incredible country of Peru. Our staff will transfer you to the Lima airport for your flight out.
