Governor Bill Crump & Jane will lead you to the fabled Amazon River and the Land of the Inca. First discover the Spanish history of Lima and the City of Kings. Then on to the mighty Amazon River and the mystical environs of the jungle. Continue to Cuzco the archaeological capital of the Inca and the magical lost city of Machu Picchu. The journey later leads us to Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. All combined this two week excursion of ecological, cultural, and archaeological history makes it the trip of a life time to Peru. T(4th) Day 1- USA - Lima
Depart from your home city in the USA to Lima. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the hotel located in Miraflores for the overnight.

W(5th) Day 2 - Colonial Lima - Museum Tour
Mid morning tours of Colonial Lima visiting the Main Square, the site of Spanish foundation by Francisco Pizarro. Continue to the Cathedral, built in 1625 of Spanish baroque style and the Government Palace, San Francisco Church and Monastery. Later continue to the Gold Museum where a variety of Peruvian artifacts can be viewed. Afterwards a welcome dinner and folk show at nearby restaurant. Early evening return to the hotel for the overnight. (CB/D)

T(6th) Day 3 - Lima - Iquitos - Cieba Tops Lodge
Morning flight to Iquitos, the base city of the Peruvian Amazon. Here our guides await your arrival for a twenty-five mile journey down the Amazon River to Ceiba Tops Lodge. The lodge is equipped with private bath and air-conditioned rooms to give the comforts from the humid rainforest. Afternoon orientation hike in the beautiful primary rainforest reserve surrounding the lodge. After dinner meet with your guides to relate some of the many legends of the Amazon forest. Overnight Ceiba Tops. (CB/L/D)

    F(7th) Day 4 - Cieba Tops Lodge
    Morning excursion to a black water oxbow lake formed when water from the Napo River became separated from the main flow of the river. These lakes are often covered with giant Victoria Regia water lilies and sometimes offer a glimpse of the elusive Hoatzin bird. Afternoon boat trip back to Ceiba Tops ( 3 hours ) Remainder of the day on your own. Overnight at the Cieba Tops Lodge. ( B/L/D)

    S(8th) Day 5 - Cieba Tops Lodge
    Morning boat ride, spotting for dolphins, to visit a small village of Yagua Indians where your guide will explain the local Yagua Indian culture including the demonstration of the blowgun which some of the Yagua elders still use for hunting. Also a opportunity to shop for local crafts. Later a walking excursion to the neighboring town of Indiana. Originally a Franciscan mission, Indiana has grown into a large river community with its own market, high school and small hospital. Time permitting a visit to the local "ribereños" or river people, visit a river school, see the local sugar cane rum "factory" or our resident American medical doctor in her clinic sponsored by the Rotary Club. After lunch, time can spent independently checking the local sites or just relaxing. Overnight at Cieba Tops. ( B/L/D)

    S(9th) Day 6 - Iquitos - Lima - Cuzco
    Morning depart by boat for your return to Iquitos and the departing flight to Lima. Connect to the flight to Cuzco. On arrival you will be transferred to the Los Andes Hotel. Remainder of the day to acclimate to the 11,300 ft. altitude in the Inca capital of Cuzco. Afterwards a welcome dinner and folk show at nearby restaurant. Return to your hotel for overnight. ( B/D )

    M(10th) Day 7 - Cuzco City tour & Sacsayhauman Park
    Morning on own. Mid day City tour of Cuzco and the Colonial and Inca sites of La Cathedral, Santo Domingo Convent or Q’oricancha. Continue to the Sacsayhauman Archaeological Park, Tambo Machay, Kenko, & Pucapucara. Late afternoon return to Cuzco and overnight at the hotel. ( BB )

    T(11th) Day 8 - Cuzco - Machu Picchu
    Early morning you will depart by Vistadome First Class train into the Andean Mountains passing through small villages where the local Indian farmers manage their work just as they have for hundreds of years. After the 3½ hour ride you will arrive into Aguas Calientes where you will board the tourist bus & proceed up a incredible winding road to the fabled site of Machu Picchu. Here your guide will explain the history & the myths that surround this archaeological wonder located on a 7'800 ft. plateau that reaches into the clouds and heavens above. After your tour transfer lunch will be served at the Sanctuary Lodge. Later depart by bus to the base of Machu Picchu and the town of Aguas Calientes and the hotel. Remainder of the day on your own. Overnight at the hotel. ( BB/L )

  • NOTE : Those wishing to spend the night at the Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel with dinner included add $100.00 per person.

    W(12th) Day 9 - Machu Picchu - Ollantaytambo
    Full day on your own in Aguas Calientes where you can take a short hike to visit a local butterfly farm, the orchid trail or bird watch for the many variety of semi tropical birds that are habitants of this area. You may as well choose to re-enter Machu Picchu where you can watch the sunrise, hike to the top of Huayna Picchu, visit the Inti Punku Pass (Gate of the Sun ) or explore and take more photographs of the area. In the late afternoon you will bid farewell to the lost city of Machu Picchu and proceed to the Aguas Calientes train station where you will board the Vistadome train for your scenic ride to the Sacred Valley. After your arrival you will be met and transfer you to the hotel for the overnight. ( BB )

    T(13th) Day 10 - Ollantaytambo - Pisac - Cuzco
    Morning depart from the Sacred Valley to the archaeological site of the Ollantaytambo Fortress. Here it is known that the Inca fought some of their fiercest & strongest battles. Also found here are “silos” or grain mills that sit high above the Andean town. The area as well is surrounded by terracing where a variety of crops are still grown. Afterwards we will continue further into the Sacred Valley of the Inca passing by the Inca terraced farm land to the town of Pisac and the Ancient Pisac Market. Here you can mingle and barter with the local Indians offer their hand made textiles, fresh fruits & vegetables. Afterwards we will proceed for a relaxing lunch at a local hacienda restaurant in the valley. After a full day of tours and shopping you will return to Cuzco and your hotel for overnight. ( BB/L )

    F(14th) Day 11 - Cuzco - Puno
    Early morning you will be met & transferred by tour bus from Cuzco to Puno. ( 8 hrs.) with stops and guided tours of Pikillaqta, Andahuaylillas, Rachi & Sicuani. Later continue on to Lake Titicaca with a late a afternoon arrival into Puno. Here you will be met & transferred to the hotel. Remainder of the day on your own. Overnight at the hotel. ( BB/L/D )

    S(15th) Day 12 - Puno - Uros - Puno
    Early morning departure to Lake Titicaca where you will go by boat to the floating Uros Islands. Here the community of Uros Indians descendants live as they have some what unchanged in their traditions for hundreds of years. You will as well have time for mingling, shopping or even to barter on this secluded island from the mainland. Return to Puno and continue to the pre Inca funerary towers Chullpas of Sillustani. Here you can view the structures that once housed the remains of these ancient ancestors. All that remains are that of the stonework, all else has been lost and looted by grave robbers years ago. Late afternoon return to the hotel for your overnight. ( BB )

    S(16th) Day 13 - Puno - Juliaca - Lima
    Mid morning transfer to the Juliaca airport for the departing flight to Lima and the hotel. After a short break, a farewell dinner and folk show at a local restaurant return to the hotel. Later that evening return to the Lima airport for the departing flight home. ( BB/D )

    International airfares, airport departure taxes (approx. $54.00) or visa fees, excess baggage charges, additional nights during the trip due to flight cancellations, alcoholic beverages or bottled water, snacks, insurance of any kind, laundry, phone calls, radio calls or messages, reconfirmation of flights and items of personal nature.

    TERMS & CONDITIONS :
    The deposit required per person is $250.00 by credit card or check and is non refundable. All travelers must have a valid passport and submit required details ( name, passport #, birth date and age at time of travel with deposit.) All deposits are non-refundable, however is transferable to a “NEW substitute traveler” up to 60 days prior to departure. The remainder due is to be paid in full 60 days prior to departure. All travelers must complete a waiver of liability form.

    CANCELLATIONS :
    All cancellations are required in writing and received by PREMIER TRAVEL or TAMBO TOURS. Cancellation fees are as follows : 45 days or more, less 20% per person. From 44 - 30 days, less 30% per person. 29 days or less 50%. 15 days or less - no refund. Cancelled travelers can "offer" their spaces for other travelers however there is a change of name fee applied to all flight reservations and hotels. This fee is based on that of the airline and "group rate" and can be paid by either the travelers or the cancelled travelers. Unused portions of tours are non-refundable and are non-exchangeable.
